Either if we go to Algarve or to Spain, Evora district is almost mandatory in the way, so, there is no reason the skip its wonders.
Évora is clearly the top destination, a real "must see", both other cities in the way justify a brief or long stop such as Montemor-o-Novo, Évoramonte, Arraiolos, Estremoz, Portel and more |

Being so close, Évora is not only a district to pass by, but a region to visit with time, discovering its natural and human made beauties, together with its original gastronomy.
Monsaraz ( not to confuse with Reguengos de Monsaraz) is a gem out of the way, but Mourão, now almost lost in Alqueva dam, and the historical Vila Viçosa also deserve the visit. |
